Well I have two stripped bolts. Plus all of the outer bolts don't want to budge. How would you precede? Will an easy out work on these? Should I use a chisel? Should I cancel my De? I've got two nights left.

Easy outs are absolutely evil. If the bolts are that tight in there then chances are that you'll break an easy-out which is hardened and then you'll be wondering what the heck you can use to drill that out! Trust me I've been there!
They really shouldn't be in there with that much torque so maybe they are seized for some reason or they were lock-tited in....

Darrin one of my outer boots are torn. Sprayed them with pb plaster. Will have a go at them tomorrow night. Was told to hammer a 11 or 12 socket down over them and give that a try. I'm working flat on my back with jack stands. My next big purchase will be a lift.

I'd be surprised if you could get them out with hammering sockets over them but maybe that is advice from someone who knows more than I do.
I think I'd be putting heat on the flange to free up whatever it is that's holding the bolts in so much, either rust or lock-tite. I'd think heat and vice grips might do it. You might even be able to grind the head of the allen bolts with a grinder to make them more flat so that you can get better grip on them.
Again on the easy outs, don't do it!

Something so simple. They are evil little suckers. The outer cv's maybe haven't been removed since 78.

Jim,
It is critical that the Allen or hex key is all the way in the bolt before trying to break it loose. I always use a hammer to drive the socket in before putting any torque on it. Use brake parts cleaner to get all debris out of the hole before hammering the socket in. Heat sounds like a good idea, but it will be hard to get things hot enough without melting the boot.
Once rounded out, vice grips are your friend.

Jim, Use the small vice grips (5"), either regular or needle nose. If you are in the Blue Bell area today, stop by and I'll lend you mine. Been there, done that!
