Here is a link for a product to protect your car. I saw it in action at the drag strip. Doesnt look pretty (but neither does the blue scotch tape) but it gets the job done.

FYI: Choose to order the 6" rolls instead of the 18". It will take a little longer to apply but for anyone with OCD like myself, the 6" should be easier to work onto the car with less "wrinkles." It typically takes me 2-3 days with a buffing wheel to get all the bugs/tire marks off the car.

You can get a similar type product at Home Depot with a lite tackyness to it.  It is a temporary carpet runner, $14.95 a roll.  Could probably wrap 6 cars with it.  A real blast to apply outside with a wind. Big Grin

Not a bad idea!

Seems like a reasonable alternative to an installed clear bra solution.  Clear bras are great but need to be maintained also.  Tire marks in particular tend to set into the film quickly, necessitating track side cleaning which can be annoying.  In that respect, they are actually more difficult to deal with than painted surfaces.
