- 924forbeths - 06-20-2010 Our baby is a rally yellow 1977 924 - Pete at RS Barn has her running like a champ ... now we just need to get the heater to stop cooking our legs while buzzing around in the old girl. Has anyone had that problem? The heater control levers are pretty useless for the problem, just redirecting the hot air to other vents. Suggestions? Thanks - - Larry Herman - 06-24-2010 We just had that problem in my son's 951. I'll let you know what it is when I fix it. - asher681 - 06-25-2010 There is a flap "door" under the center of the dash, it is plastic (cheap) & does break .... When this happens the door stays open & the heat flows to the interior... You can manually close it... Joe - 924forbeths - 07-01-2010 Thanks for the suggestion. I have disconnected the cable from the dash to the heater control valve and have manually closed the heater control valve (hopefully). If that doesn't work, I will try the door that you mention, Joe. Plan on taking her for a run tonight. Will let you know if this temporary fix works to provide a more comfortable "cabin" space. Beth - 924forbeths - 07-02-2010 Drove the 924 last evening and actually felt a cool breeze in the "cabin" ... amazing! Disconnecting the heater control cable from the heater control valve, then manually pushing over the lever on the valve to close it did the trick .... The miracle of mechanics ..... |
