- Budman - 11-14-2010 To those who missed the annual party at Maggiano's last night, you missed a beauty. Over 100 felllow members had a great time dining, dancing and socializing with fellow members. Some of you guys clean up really, really well. Without our baseball caps and jeans, I'm sure some of us were unrecognizable. The party was very well executed, attended and appreciated I'm sure, by all participants. Well done to the organizers and attendees too. And for me personnaly, winning the Riesentöter Region, PCA, Annual Door Prize (for those unfamiliar, it truly is a steel door from a 356), for being the most active new member, I'm humbled and speachless (for a change). Actually, I had wittled my acceptance speach down to an hour and a half, arranged for teleprompters and stage coaching all for naught. ![]() Bud - Budman - 11-14-2010 Oh (DUH!)....and most importantly, it was announced your club raised and donated $22,000 to the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House Charity. This was the money raised at the October NJMP Thunderbolt DE Charity Event. Previously we had announced that the club raised and donated $8,000 from the Planes & Porsches Charity AX, Concours, Show N Shine & Membership Meeting event we held in August. That money went to the Miller-Keystone Blood Center. How cool is that? If you can't find some reason to participate in this club you're just not looking hard enough. Bud - Larry Herman - 11-14-2010 I've been to quite a lot of Holiday Parties with this club, and purely from a social aspect, last night's was one of the best. ![]() - ccm911 - 11-15-2010 I agree that this was a great event. Great People, good food, and TWO bars made for a rather enjoyable evening. My only nitpick is that the DJ has got to go. I mean, a room full of people with varying degrees of hearing damage inflicted by years of loud exhausts, who really want to socialize and converse with their fellow members is not conducive to overly loud music. I couldn't even hear what people were saying and it got pretty frustrating. Could we possible have a nice quiet Jazz combo next year? Other than that minor annoyance, the event was first class, and the organizers deserve much praise. - Porshagod - 11-15-2010 ccm911 wrote: Quote:I agree that this was a great event. "If it's too loud, you're too old"! ![]() - NumeroUnoPA - 11-16-2010 Great job by everyone who organized the event. It was a smash. Great people and a lot I had not met before. Already looking forward to next year. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Ditto the DJ. It seemed he did not realize there were people in the room born before 1970. Some left after there was no change in the music. - STEVEMCMORN - 11-17-2010 Although for fair balance, some of US younger folks born after 1970 enjoyed dancing to "fight for your right to Par-tay" by the Beastie Boys - STEVEMCMORN - 11-17-2010 Although for fair balance, some of US younger folks born after 1970 enjoyed dancing to "fight for your right to Par-tay" by the Beastie Boys - STEVEMCMORN - 11-17-2010 whooooo, you must be getting old if you're seeing double - ccm911 - 11-18-2010 STEVEMCMORN wrote: Quote:Although for fair balance, some of US younger folks born after 1970 enjoyed dancing to "fight for your right to Par-tay" by the Beastie BoysMost...Annoying...Song...Ever!!!!!:? |
