I just saw a Dewalt Battery 2-Pack in the Lowes circular for like $120. Those batteries are really expensive!
And to Steve the Snap-On snob, my Crafts-Man tools work just fine.

That tool would not last a week in a real shop environment. They work great for a home owner but when you use a tool 8-9 hours a day that is when you see the difference. It cost more but there is a reason. It all depends on how often a tool is used and what it is being used for. My three year old has a craftsman tool set and he loves it. He changed the wheels on his tricycle last night. Like I said all "toys"

LOL!!! I agree that pros need Snap-On, but for the casual "shade tree" mechanic, they are sometimes overkill.

I own the Dewalt and it has held up with no problem, the longacre is a good unit at a decent price.

Had the dewalt as well nice piece for the home owner. I returned after a short time did not have enough for my application. Although it did get me in better shape from all the trips back and fourth changing the batteries.

i have the DeWalt; I change wheels many times over a 3 day event and have had no problem. I also use it it on the boats, docks and CJ7.
I Keep one extra battery on the charger and i have all the power I need.
I was able to buy a gym membership to get in shape with the money i saved from not buying a Snap-on!!

You will need the gym to brake all the bolts lose that your fisher price impact gun won't. Like I said all "toys" perfect for a home owner though. Snap on stuff is expensive but you get what you pay for. Most home owners don't use their tools enough to see the difference.

Within the past 30 days, I read a magazine article that compared a number of cordless impact guns. I believe that they did not include the SnapOn because these were mostly below $250. I'll be damned if I can remember the magazine though. Maybe "Grassroots Motorsports"?. I think the Makita and Bosch models did well. In any event, they tested maximum torque, and half weren't even close to the advertised number.
Does anyone remember that article?

ALL impact drivers loose torque as the battery runs down. Check all lugs with a torque wrench to be safe and sure.
