944's are relatively easy to connect a hitch. The older 911's have the engine hanging in the back so a hitch is difficult. The bumpers are not really made for that. My early 911 doesn't even have a bumper .

Good point Nick. On the 993 and the 968 the hitch only requires the drilling of 4 holes into the aluminum behind the bumperettes. and it bolts right on. However if you don't have those bumperettes it could present quite a problem.
And to Joe's point on building a kit trailer ......... PA looks on this type of activity in the same way they do your building of a full blown roadworthy kit car, i.e. they make a HUGE deal of trying to get such an object registered. If you go the trailer route (which doesn't look likely given Nick's wise words), either a) buy a Harbor Freight trailer that someone else has already registered, b) just buy a trailer off the shelf, or c) if you really want to build your own kit register it in Maine.

Already given alot of thought to the hitch, the hitch from Will Wood appears to mount to the rear subframe. Looks like it is a solid hitch and bracket. As far as registering the trailer, good thing I don't live in PA. Sounds like PA DMV can be a real pain in the ass. I was re-registering my car with new plates and inquired about a trailer. Don't even need an inspection, all you have to do is fill out the registration form and "here's your tag Mr. Lang" easy as pie, all I would have to do after that would be get a trailer to put it on.

I just finished a roof rack for my Cayman. Started with the Porsche rack system and added struts using carriage bolts into the slots on the Porsche rack. Wheels bolt through the struts.
