RE: Porsche Recall - cjbcpa - 01-29-2015

The notice in the link references leaks due to vibration.

My 2011 Golf TDI was recalled due to a problem with fuel lines leading to the injectors cracking from vibrations caused by a sympathetic resonance. The cure was to install tightly fitting pieces of styrofoam onto the lines to dampen/prevent the vibration. I'm speculating that all these engines use a similar direct injection design and the high pressure fuel pumps are the source of the vibration.
