John Heckman Death - Wally - 10-02-2015 It is with great sadness that I have to post about the passing of John Heckman, former president and chief instructor of RTR. No details at this time. Please keep Lillian in your hearts and prayers. Wally RE: John Heckman Death - TwentySix - 10-03-2015 My deepest sympathies to Miss Lillian... such a loss - a gentleman, talented driver and fun guy to be around - I will miss your smiling face Rest in peace John. I found John quoted in a NYT article (along with another Riesentoter Skip Chalfont) regarding 356's: Not everyone enjoys his car in such obvious ways. John Heckman's first Porsche was a 1962 356 B Cabriolet, which he owned for 25 years. "Although it was a convertible, my favorite way to drive the car was with the top up and all of the windows down, including the clear plastic one at the rear," Mr. Heckman, of Blue Bell, Pa., said. "I could hear the engine and exhaust sound better this way." http://www.nytimes.com/2010/08/01/automobiles/collectibles/01PORSCHE.html?_r=1 RE: John Heckman Services - IXIXIII - 10-06-2015 There will be a memorial service on Thursday October 15th at: Ambler First Presbyterian Church 4 S Ridge Ave Ambler PA 19002 http://fpcambler.org/directions/[/size] 10:00 - 11:00 visiting hour 11:00 - 12:00 service Immediately after the service refreshments will be served in the church basement. RE: John Heckman Death - George3 - 10-16-2015 I just learned of John's passing today and wanted to say a few words. John was a wonderful friend who always gave his help and that is why I will miss him. His spirit rests in heaven, but will always be with us in our hearts. Thank you for your humor, thank you for your help, thank you for being a friend. RIP |
