I've a question for the Safety chair. - JIMK - 01-13-2016

I've a question for the Safety chair. After a couple years worth of surgeries have kept me off the track I'd like to find out if my repaired left foot can handle a weekend of HPDE clutch-work. Do I need to replace my SA2005 helmet for one event in the Green run group? (street seats & tires)

I'm hesitant to buying a SA2015 as there is a concern that the subject event might be the last event too.

Thanks in advance,

I'm not the Safety Chair but PCA Club Racing is allowing a 2005 Snell approved helmet to be used until June 1, 2016. This will meet the minimum requirements of the PCA Drivers Ed program. email Dan Rufer safety@rtr-pca.org

To the extent that you're saying or implying that Snell 2005 helmets may still be used for DE (until June 1 or otherwise), where did you get that from? I was under the impression, e.g., from a recent message sent by Marty, that Snell 2005 helmets may no longer be used for DE.

I got my information direct from PCA. I saw Marty's message and it appears that RTR is not allowing 2005 helmets.
