Education & Driver Aids - jgiannone - 02-05-2021

Years ago, when I first started doing DE's, I came across book that was hugely helpful. It was called "Speed Secrets", by Ross Bentley. It broke down every part of what we're doing, and went into great depth about theory and execution. I read it three times, like a textbook. If you haven't read it, trust me, you should.

The other thing I've found to be very useful is Google Maps, even more so than video. Video is great, don't get me wrong, but most of the time, the camera angles don't allow you to see the reference points in the pavement, and the patches of dirt that usually define the limits of the apex and track out. Years ago, going to a track Id never been to, and needing to do well at, I pulled it up on Google Maps, blew each corner up as big as I could, printed it out, and assembled the pieces on the wall of my basement.  I had a six feet by eight foot track map, with all the detail. Made it a lot easier to get up to speed.
