I have a showroom 1983 944 with all original equipment.  Someone applied wheel balance weights to the external, aluminum part of the rims.  Someone then applies some type of solvent to remove which a) discolored the coating, and b) is causing some to delaminate.

Any suggestions for local PA places that can refinish the rims to new??

Thanks

These guys do a good job. They have a pick-up service at several of the local shops. That saves on the shipping if you go that route.

Hey, thanks.  Web site looks good and they are close to me.

You're welcome.  Are these Fuchs with the polished rim?  I didn't realize that they were actually clear-coated.  I had a set once that I used metal polish on the rim and that worked well.  I assume, though, since you said they are delaminating that they do have some kind of coating on them.

That set I actually found in the junk yard (Shorty's U-pullit) on an 83 or so 944 -- paid $25 each and sold the rears for $250 each on ebay Smile  I think they are the same as some 911 fronts.
