Many of us have been in situations where we may need anything from car (track car, trailer and tow vehicle) repairs or parts on our way or at tracks we run.  We should pool our experience and list places we have found aid here, and maybe make web page per track that everyone could print out.

Additionally, we could add a list of hotels, places to eat, and activities for spouses and kids.

Just an idea.  Thoughts?

That's a GREAT idea. I don't think this forum is the best tool for that, however. A Wiki would work well though.

I, too, think it's a great idea.  I know I choose hotels based upon my travel companions...

Going alone = close to track & resembling clean w/palatable food nearby.

Going w/ wife = close to dining (the finer the better), really clean (Seneca lodge is camping to my wife) reasonable distance to track.

Going w/family = eral close to (if not on-ste) restaurant, entertaining to kids, reasonably clean (Seneca lodge has a public pool across the street - so we 'camp' in the lodge) reasonable distance to track.

So far I've always found something ~ 30 minutes to track.

I'm glad I was alone the first time I stayed at Shoney's :-)

How does "A Wiki" work?

This is actually a good idea, but requires an organizer.  You have just been appointed the task.  I have data for SP, Glen, and VIR.  Pocono has a couple good dining locations.   BTW, if you have you new Hoosiers mounted at the Wallmart at Watkins Glen, make sure  the fronts are not on the back rims as Dave S. found out. I gladly accept the job as organizer.

Email me all of the info you have to pedointrappe@yahoo.com

Great idea. I'll email you what I have - when I get a chance.

I agree that this is a great idea.  I just sent you an email with my suggestions.

Thanks for taking the lead on this one [Image: thumbup.gif]

So did Dave run faster or slower on that setup?

For those of us that do not know computers all that well, how does one access the information once it gets on a wiki?

he was ready to go onto the track and felt rubbing. He couldn't figure out why it wouldn't fit - we even "adjusted' his new front bumper. Once it "fit", it still didn't look right, then we realized why.

Terry, you wouldn't have that trouble with your GT3 as the wheel sizes are noticeable.
