We acutually have the power to blow the Earth out of its orbital path, let alone change its whether.

Now assuming we don't concentrate our missile silos on on one location at the same time. I do agree that weather patterns run in cycles. That being said, our new track in Millville could end up also being a beach resort some day. How nice!

Hmmm..... with all this food for thought, there is only one thing to do.  And that is to go out to the driveway on Sunday and wash the cars.  I think it may be going up to 50.  Yee Haw.

Chris,

I plan on doing just that! I figure I'll need to get salt off the P-Car after Saturday night's drive to & from the banquet!

and since I'll already be out there; I might as well do the track car too!

"up-side to global warming" nice weather in December for car THRASHING (I don't trash 'em) & washing!

Probably not accidentally....

If so, though, lets just change our orbit to conteract global warming, then we can all run without cats!

Last night, after reading the posts in this thread, I was more ecologically conscious.  I washed the Cayenne in the heated garage, but instead of setting the thermostat to 70, I set it at 65.Confusedhock:

LOL!!!  In that case, I guess I can tun up the heat in my garage to MAX without any guilt feelings.

Heck, maybe when I am done, I'll go out and club some baby seals. Big Grin

That's what I like to see - a realistic acceptance that mankind is doomed, so we should just enjoy our cars while we can. Big Grin

For me the saddest thing is the realization that a lot of damage has already been done and nature is already compensating. The worst thing is that the countries that are causing most damage right now are the ones that will not be changing their behavior.

Here's more food for thought. China is currently the world's largest consumer of raw materials (we are the world's largest consumer of end products per capita). Raw materials prices, (steel, concrete, oil, etc) are being influenced by the short supply caused by China.

83% of the Chinese population live in rural areas and do not drive. There is a trend towards urbanization and all those chinese will soon be driving (in the next 10-20 years) and consuming oil. How do you think things are going to look when one of the world's largest populations is consuming and polluting even more than they do now? They are already building 10-20 coal fired power stations per year and still are experiencing electricity shortages and rationing. All that pollution is effecting the Pacific Rim and the Western Americas (North and South). The effects of China Dust are documented and quite depressing.

Even better is that India is not far behind China in consumption. India and China have already started outsourcing to Africa, as the labor costs are cheaper.

I also think that this weekend is the time for the baby to go away for the winter... nothing is more relaxing than washing and waxing the car. Big Grin

We all need to do what we can.

I am hoping the next Congress will outlaw beans. Emissions due to eating beans is far worse than anything else we have done to the environment.

Wayne, looks like you have been waxing your car too much. The tail is erect in the picture.Tongue

Bingo, we should all do what we can. The reality is that there is a lot of irrational hype about global warming, but there is also some good science that suggests that we have done and we continue to do damage. The ice caps are part of the global cooling system - they are doing what they were designed to do, which is to melt, introduce low salinty water into the oceans and attempt to lower increasing ocean temperatures.

A few years ago I was on the fence over this, but have been convinced by some good science. I continue to ignore the irrational hype propagated by those that use emotion rather than science and data. I regard the car washing actions as being driven by emotional do-gooders that have no common sense and perspective.

Lastly, nothing wrong with a fully functioning erect tail. I'm not a baby boomer - no auto-Viagra needed here. Wink

I believe for your car's tail to become erect on its own, you must be doing about 70mph, and then it will lower at about 40 mph. In the picture the car is stationary. If it isn't the little blue pill, then you must be waxing it too muchTongue.
