Does anyone know where to get OE seat "shells" to redo my 83sc seats to factory? I have dark brown leather interior and want the same factory look and feel.  I have emailed a few manufacturers but their samples do not show to be close to my factory color.

I do this for a profession and deal with World Upholstery for Porsche covers. 1-800-222-9577.  They are replacement skins and do not go over the original covers so you will need special tools to install the skins.  D ring pliers and stretching pliers.  Getting an exact color match will be difficult for any color other then black.  Cleaning the rest of you interior may help as age and UV had changed the original color.  If you are not happy with the color match after they are installed the skins could be dyed to an exact match to the rest of your interior.  Hope this helps

Maybe we should have a conversation on the phone. I would have a professional seat shop do the shell replacement for me. I can just take them the seats and the shells. Pricing is my next question. Two front seats only. My rears are near perfect.

Leather reproduction covers have cost us $900 to $1200 for a pair depending on model year. (+shipping) We charge $175 per seat to install the covers.  Any trim shop can install the covers amd I am sure there are some good trim shops in the Reading area.

Thank YOU! When I am ready should I just call that number you supplied?

Kris.  Brian has given you some excellent advice.  Additionally, you may want to talk to Bru, as he and I went over to his friends upholstery shop, and they looked really competant.

They work with Porsche owners every day so I am sure they will be able to help you.
