Thanks for the reply. I guess that my garage rates a solid "B" on soundproofing. I put rigid foam between the studs, a layer of 5/8" wall board, new windows, and triple layer 1.5" thick steel garage...

Wrap-up:  Thanks for your advice, Gentlemen.  I bought a 2006 E350 diesel last year.  On a trip to Pittsburgh in the Fall, it averaged 17 MPG, but it was basically empty.  I'll let you know the result...
