LOL: Lets see... no mirrors,  need spoters to tell them where to go, don't know how to brake or down shift, don't know how to keep a car balanced,  need to run the short course at WGI and the icing on the cake, this BS dial a friend on the radio for a drafting buddy during the race pretty much says it all.  Boogity Boogity. 

Seriously if there is absolutly nothing else on....I will watch the last 20 laps and endure the 5 caution flags.

Do you know anybody that races in the rain on straight slicks, "not rain slicks" I think they should run on rains that would be worth watching.

My wife (who did the Skippy 3-day school with me several years ago, so she has some sports car background) has morphed into a total NASCAR fan.  While I have not been to a race -- she's going to Texas this weekend, I'm going to Lime Rock the following -- she says it's better live than on TV, especially if you understand what is happening.  I suspect that will not apply to a three year old, except there will be lots of noise, bright colors, and things going fast, which may hold his interest for a least a little while.  It's kind of a "carnival" atmosphere (in more ways than one), and I think they make a point of trying to keep it "family friendly," so they can try to appeal to the next generation of potential fans.

As to Dover vs. Pocono, the "expert" tells me Dover is a better choice, by a small margin.  As we who have driven Pocono already know, the facilities there leave a lot to be desired.

After watching the World Superbike guys run in the rain last weekend, my opinion of NASCAR has fallen lower than I ever thought it could.

A bunch of hayseeds in inferior American iron, turning in only in one direction has as much to do with racing, as WWE has to do with wrestling.

Now the World of Outlaw sprint guys....... they may only turn in one direction... but the manner in which it is done is just oh so impressive.

World of Outlaws = Actual skill

 While were at it I am finding the racing in F-1 increasingly boring. Greatly appreciate the technology, speed, driver skill and ever changing strategy, but often falls extremely close to qualiying positions.

 All the best races are when it rains.  European GranPrix bikes, FIA GT3, ALMS, DTM, WTC and maybe this year Rolex, is where the racing is IMHO.

You are correct. For F1, it is all about qualifying. But it is kinda neat to see all the exotic locations. If I had the money, I would love to go to Monte Carlo.

Agreed Chris.  At my wife's school the retired art teachers daughter-in -law was an engineer for Renault when Fernando was running with them.  She was at every race all over the world.  How cool must that be.  My wife forgot to tell her when we went to Montreal so we were relegated to the masses of never ending people.  It was our first time there and I know now that a seat is a must at that venue.
