The Fabspeed exhaust on my 02 Boxster was a little too loud for me. Drone with the top up was headache inducing. I had several options:
  • Have Fabspeed add resonators - Expensive and may not completely eliminate the drone
  • Add baffles between cats and mufflers - reduces power gains from more open exhaust
  • Go back to stock exhaust - NO!
  • Baffle in tips

I figured I try baffles in the tips as this was an inexpensive test.
I ordered 2.5" baffles from Car Chemistry. I cut the first baffle plate to the ID of the exhaust tip and the trimmed the second to about 1/4".

The modified baffles fit nicely into the tips.

Finisher tips slide on to hold everything together. (temporary screw holding baffle in - need a better looking solution)

Overall, looks good.

Drone is no longer an issue, power is still there, and sound it fantastic.
