Thanks! Looking forward to meeting you!

It is a regular 996 with the 3.6L motor, stripped of every creature comfort, with Moton Club Sport suspension, GT3 wing, Aim dash, air jacks, Fabspeed exhaust, etc.

Yes, T-bolt was a little hairy on Thursday. Lots of "excitement" on the R6s since we wanted to save the H2O tires...just in case!

Take care!

Old tires, 1:31.38...hopefully faster in August!

Are you going to stop by?

Dave,

The best times I remember of the guys I worked with having GTB1 cars was 1:27 to 1:28. If you have a data trace, I can tell where they are making time. Should be able to pick up a second or two. Thursday was high humidity so you can factor that in also.

Hey Bob!

I was going to try and catch you between students on Thursday.

The tires I was running had about 15 heat cycles on them and had been used at the Club Race at Sebring in February by the previous owner.  My Aim data link was full, so I could only view the lap times but was unable to download them.

The track record for GTB1 at T-bolt is 1:29.034, so hopefully fresh stickers will help somewhat.  I'd love to talk after one of the Friday practice sessions and show you some data.  Can you help with the Aim stuff?

Let me know.

Thanks!

David

Dave,

I was swamped. I had 1 student and four drivers I was working with!!!

Send me an email at bob@tracksidedata.com and I will see what I can do. Record is a bit soft. Darren was running well below that when we compared data (low 27) and I had another 996 and Cayman that were fast also. 15 heat cycles should still be good for a hot lap as long as you don't slide the car too much. You will find most of the time in the slow stuff and maybe a small bit in T3, T6, T7. Smalls bit in those areas is worth 1.5 secs so you can easily get below 1:30.

reg,

Bob

I did the same ride in the Jeep over 5 years ago... Let's hope they finally get this thing moving.
Maybe the will open just for you and the rest of the 4 wheeler mongers that like to play in the mud first for a couple of years, then they will have the $$$$ to pave the damn thing.

As noted in another thread, it's dead.

May 24, 2013

Dear Reservation Holders, Prospective Members and all other Alpine Stakeholders,

After many unsuccessful attempts to secure construction financing for the Alpine Motorsports Project, the Alpine property in Eldred Township, PA was sold this past Monday, May 20, 2013. The new owner of the property, the PA Game Commission, will not be pursuing a motorsports development but will instead dedicate the land to wildlife management.

Our sincere gratitude is extended to the many Alpine supporters over the past twelve years. We wish you all continued enjoyment of the automotive lifestyle.

Very truly yours,

Alpine Motorsports Club

Here's the article:

Looks like hunting and hiking. What a revenue loss for the township and tourism industry.
