Larry Herman's neighbor owns Callahan Lifts.  At his tech session, there was one on display and it was portable.

No affiliation, just trying to help a brotha or sista out.

This lift I do not believe will allow another car to be stored under it.  Not enough height.  But it certainly does have advantages over a scissor lift as far as access to the underside of the vehicle.

I spoke to the guy last year after the vendor night. The price was right at about $1200, however, the clearance is not sufficient to park a Porsche on top of the scissor lift, meaning you lose a garage space.

You also have to cut the hose and install the coupling which isn't a big deal.

It's not too hard to use some 2x10's to create a drive-up ramp around the mid-rise lift.  That way you don't lose the garage space.  Here's a creative solution that adds an extra work-bench to the garage too.
