Actually Bill a tight line in the Octupus is both quicker and more predictable. The track sheds water in strange places and your wheel needs to relax before going up the hill into the essess. NJMP needs to work on water management in various areas where water collects. I found plenty of pace even on slicks while the track was wet, but no one was drying out the early apex line but me so understeer was the norm. Friday was productive and I am anxious to race there in two weeks.

Wet driving in the Integra was way fun!!!! Gene had a blast driving it in the White group and I was out with it in Red/Black. After the sessions it wasn't so good standing around in the cold and wet! Hoosier wets are like "instant god status"

The Integra with the Hoosier wets hooks up really well, I was surprised how fast I could get away with going. The track was really hairy today... it was getting pretty dry by the end but there were rivers and lakes in all the worst places, and I was running the slicks since it got too dry for the Hoosier rains. My nemesis was the river across the corner exit from the big sweeping endless left turn, I would come flying around the inside of the turn pretty well and hit that water and the car would scoot to the outside, messing up my line for entering the esses. I tried taking a much deeper, later line through the turn so I'd hit that river straight on, it certainly helped getting through the esses and onto the straight but the line through the left was so slow that I think the overall lap time ended up being worse. Need a GPS data logger :p

Anyone who stayed until Sunday afternoon was rewarded with a nearly dry track and 45 minute sessions.
Whenever there is a way to combine runs into 45 minute sessions, I am all for it!
I chased a boxster for 45 minutes and never quite could catch it, but it never got away either. Best session of the weekend!!

Actually you were the only person that I saw with better pace than the GTR in the wet. Very impressive and not easily done. Sorry I pulled in but Geza just wanted a few laps so he could get a comparison between the GTR and his Corvette. Any faster and I would've just wadded the thing up. As Geza can attest we were sliding pretty significantly in every corner.
The GTR with the Hoosier Wets would be absolutely sick fast.
I am guessing your pace was better too Bob but luckily I never saw you!! lol!!

Thanks Steve. Driving in the rain is a dream with the Hoosier Wets (and mine are 1/2 tread and several years old... can't wait to try out at set of new ones). Predictable even at crazy slip angles. I can pull between 1.2 and 1.3Gs in the dry on R6s (on non-cambered turns), whereas on the Hoosier Wets in the rain this weekend, it was like 0.8 - 1 G. However, the big difference in my opinion is in the braking zones. Crazy braking capabilities even through that standing water at the end of the front straight. I couldn't believe how late I was able to brake into turn 1 and how consistent the tires were even with the changing conditions.

When did you get a GTR? I thought you just got a 350Z? What type of tires are you running on the GTR. I can't believe it did not dominate in the rain.
