Mike
I see it like this. Retired club racer helps support his friend and former Racing instructor in his underdog quest against the big boys. Small town racer get a hand from a small town mom and pop underdog pharmacy. I'd give Todd more then a fighters chance.

Todd,  Get a hold of Ian asap since he did "Setup".  He will have tons of advice on what tricks they will pull.  Stay ahead of the game.  If you need Ian's whereabouts ask Pechstein.

I thought about entering this thing with the same angle in mind.  The underdog in the low horsepower car that is worth less than one GT3 wheel.  Then I imagined that there would be some ringers entering this thing too and your name immediately popped into my mind.  I'm glad I didn't enter!  I would have lost my $5k and never had a shot at the first prize.

You're quite the character too and would fit in well on a TV series.  Just hope they don't make it corny like Bullrun.  And when you win, you have to give me ride in that Ferrari.  Good luck and don't forget to throw in some RTR plugs while on TV. Smile

already ahead of you! i talked to ian at length a couple days ago; we are going to remain in close contact; he had lots of valuable info and great ideas on what to do and how to set up the car, too. (he ran the Targa Newfoundland not too many years ago, and that rally is similar in nature to this one). thanks bob!

This sounds awesome. How about RTR being a sponsor? I imagine we'd be able to cobble together enough small contributions to add up to a decent amount. Might even be enough to get the Honda on the track again.

Maybe we could do that in honor of some charity, maybe Make a Wish? I don't know if they would go for it but maybe we could have an RTR fund raiser where 50% of the money went directly to Make a Wish, 50% went to the car effort, and then logo the whole car for Make a Wish.....just a thought Smile

I'm in for a few bucks through RTR.

Darren,

Great idea! I've sent a message to Allison to share this with the Exec. committee.

Todd - this is awesome!!!!!  I do suggest that if you want to come accross as the underdog, you should not be conspicuously sponsored by a Porsche club.

No, he should be sponsored by the Make a Wish Foundation......... indirectlyCoolCool

With that car, and his race suit, ......... definitely THE UNDERDOG. I usually root for the underdog, no matter who it is. I will be talking with the RAIN GODS. Todd, just tell me the dates and the locations, OK?
