- Darren - 07-14-2009 I'm on an email list with a bunch of car & computer guys appropriately called "The Cardorks". Anyway, many of the dorks do these autox events, and they had a few comments about this weekend of Porsches charging into apexes and crawling out! Nick you gotta get our guys up to speed here! It's embarassing - Darren - 07-14-2009 Nick -- have you seen the Pyramid of Speed? Have to read the article for the explaination: http://www.nsxfiles.com/Pyramid_of_speed.htm - opus - 07-14-2009 Nick, auto-x is really not my interest as others have pointed out....whole day for 6-8 minutes of actual driving time. My main interest is car control skills. HPDE is a secondary interest. Traditional (as opposed to road course) auto-x comes last. I am sure you remember this link below. Overall, as far as level of interest here, what do you think order would be? http://rtr.mywowbb.com/forum1/1572.html - Wally - 07-14-2009 Hey Nick, I'm offended! More than 10% of the people there on Sunday were RTR DE people. By my count there were nine of us. Some of us could not run because we had official duties at the AX. We support the club in many ways that you will never see because you are too busy flapping you gums about AX. My Ax credentials were earned long before you started. I was awarded the "Broken Crankshaft" ten years before you were. I went to Topeka and then moved on to DE and racing. Give it a rest, the drum you're beating sounds more like a flat tire. - Vytenis - 07-14-2009 Thanks to all for coming out. While the seat time was measured in minutes, it was a day's worth of people (autocrocrossers, DE'ers, workers, vendors, and spectators) with the same interests and all for a good cause. Your credentials are commendable, and I didn't intend to offend you or anyone else there.............. but I noticed that there were many newbies that needed coaching which I don't think that they were "RTR DE people" YET! AX and car control clinic is probably the best way to get someone interested in high speed driving confidently without mishaps on a track. ....... and thus consider this the proper progression in high speed driving experience. - betegh9 - 07-15-2009 Darren wrote: Quote:I'm on an email list with a bunch of car & computer guys appropriately called "The Cardorks". New word in the English dictionary. My word processor keeps telling me that it is misspelled. Wow! As far as getting up to speed, I'm tryin', but we need more people like you. those guys charging into the apexes must have been DE people.hock: (Just kidding so that everyone knows) - betegh9 - 07-15-2009 Darren wrote: Quote:Nick -- have you seen the Pyramid of Speed? That one certainly involves things that fly. Wally's on there someplace. - delanckc - 07-16-2009 Is this what you had in mind? Up, up, up and away!!!!! Kevin |
