What is a Drive & Dine?
Drive and Dine is an option for PCA RTR members to meet other members and enjoy their cars in a social, non-competitive atmosphere. The event consists of:
- A defined meeting place.
- A planned/informal route.
- Final destination is a restaurant for the participants to enjoy a meal (breakfast, lunch, or dinner).
The meeting place is pre-determined and convenient. The drive can vary from country roads to interstates and be leisurely or spirited. The meals can range from basic to lavish, based on the event. There can be points of interest to stop along the way and the route is generally scenic.
The events are open to anyone who wishes to attend, with as many passengers as can be legally and safely held in the vehicle. There is no tech requirement or vehicle restrictions, but Porsches are preferred. Drive & Dines will be posted on the RTR Calendar as well as details noted in the "Social Category". Email blasts will be sent to announce the event and remind members of the date, time and specifics.
Very little commitment is required for a Drive & Dine. Most events take place on the weekend and consist of meeting at a designated point, followed by two to five hours of driving, dining and social activity. There is generally no registration fee for events, but members will be asked to sign insurance waivers to comply with PCA rules.
