Also when I have a very tall student in the right seat I take the cushions out and they fit.Hey Brian, I believe the slider attachment points varied throughout the years. I know in 85, it was at its tallest, almost an inch higher than other years. 84 should be the same 86-88. I will try removing the seat cushion as a temporary fix to see if that will get me by for Watkins. I think the other options are putting the side mounts directly to the floor, taking the sliders out. Or having the seat attachment points re-welded further down in the tub. I'll swing by Dougherty's and see what they have to say. - ccm911 - 07-19-2011 DJbrand1 wrote: Quote:Looks like this maybe another option. Re-welding the seat mounts lower down. Although, many warn that welding against the transmission tunnel is a bit risky due to the fuel lines running down them. Not a good idea. There has got to be a better way than butchering up the interior with a weld job. I was the one who originally mounted that driver's seat, and I do remember it sitting a bit high. Better to dump the sliders and do a direct mount to the seat mounts. Hey, it is YOUR car, who cares if no one else fits. - DJbrand1 - 07-19-2011 Christopher, want to help re mount the driver seat!? Ideally I would like to keep the sliders since I like to seat a little further back when not driving the car aggressively at DE. I will give Dougherty's a call and see what they think. I'll post back and let you know. - ccm911 - 07-19-2011 Adam. Just let me know if you need help. I will be around all weekend and I have a bitchin set of tools. - AMoore - 07-19-2011 ccm911 wrote: Quote:Adam. Just let me know if you need help.
