According to SCCA safety guidelines the course should not cross the red lines which are 25ft from an obstacle.

Why shouldn't it cross the lines?

If your car decides it doesn't want to behave it's nice to have some wiggle room between your car and a lamp post.  The Red lines are 25ft wide, and they are suggestions about where the course shouldn't be.  Since the Valley Forge lot usually has slower courses you could probably get closer to the hazards without worry.

That I get. I guess I was trying to understand the lower boundary, as I didn't see a hazard.
