Cancelled due to zero interest - going down to the shore instead

- Wellardmac - 08-10-2006

Well, I would have been interested, but am already commited to go to english town on the 19th. They're doing autocross and time trials. You're welcome to join us.

http://www.etownraceway.com/

I'll be going to watch the AX and enter the time trials - pressure free fun to get your time over the quarter mile.

Let me know and we can arrange where/how to meet up.

As I'm English:dude:, Englishtown soundslike a great place to visit.

Let me check with the old bread knife if we're doing anything next weekend and I'll get back to you in the next couple of days

Is a timetrial a run on the drag strip??

do you need a helmut??

- STEVEMCMORN - 08-11-2006

After a little bit of detective work on the web, it turns out a timetrial is a 'hillclimb'

- Wellardmac - 08-12-2006

In this case the time trial is on the drag strip. The way Etown runs is with a handicap system, so the time trials are to help set your handicap should you run in the drag strip competition.

You're welcome to join us, although as you guessed, all cars with a 0-60 time of less than 12 seconds need a helmet.

BTW, I used to be from Blighty.... a while ago.

Cheers

This came up at breakfast today (thanks, Marty, for a good one!). Interested in the national event, August 18-19? I've never been to a drag race....
