Hi - I'm interested in getting a short shift kit for my 2000 Porsche Boxster S.  I know there are different brands out there (B&M, Tequipment, Schnell, Generic Ebay Brands) and I'd like to see if anyone has one installed in their Boxster.

I would really like to try one out before I decide to go ahead with the purchase.

I am located in the Collegeville, PA area (Skippack).

Thanks,
Dave

I have one in my 1999 911 (probably B&M because it was in before I bought the car 2 1/2 years ago) and I helped install one (Porsche) in a 2003 911.  It took us about 2 1/2 hours, but with instructions, was a breeze and went smoothly.

Installing the short shift is one of the best things you can do to your car.  I compared my shifter to a friend with a std boxster and the difference was incredible.

One other thing, I think the same shifter is used in both the boxster and the 911 so there should be no difference between them.

I have the Porsche ssk in my 996.  As Marty stated, the install was pretty straight forward.  We followed the B&M instructions as they were better than the Porsche ones.

Check out Brandywine Porsche as they have been discounting the Porsche ssk's for quite a while now.  They have also been selling them on ebay, but it's still cheaper to ask them for the same price.  I think that I paid $249 for it (same price as the b&m)

I have one in my 2000 Boxster, B & M variety.  I purchased it via a group buy from Porsche Pete's Boxster Board a few years ago.

Pretty easy to install, just follow the directions included and you'll be in great shape.  I had to do some tweaking of the control nut in order to get the desiered feel, but other then that, you'll be fine.
