HPDE safety!
I am sure that many of you have heard of the incident at Roas Atlanta.
My concern over the past several years have been the speed capabilities that the new cars have without the safety equipment that less capable race cars have. Sitting in the right hand seat has been more and more challenging for me in the last few years because of the safety concern.
Here is a link of a thought written by Ross Bentley that puts some light on this subject. I hope the speed council takes notes of this.

Being a newer Instructor (Brian still makes me wear a freshman beanie cap and calls me Flounder) I have experienced this too often than not. Several modern high horsepower cars just take of like rockets. I tell newer drivers to not exceed 100 mph, but they hit that speed quickly and then exceed it even quicker. Reigning them in proves difficult in time to make that right turn at the end of the straight away. Using some yellow reminder cones on the front straight may not be such a bad idea.
