Excellent - variation on the same theme when Schumacher in an enzo raced a jet a couple of years ago ............. but better

Hamster needs a haircut and liked it when the rabbit ran across the runway!

I actually thought that(GASP!), the plane was more impresive than the car.

BEEN THERE DONE THAT

We raced an F-16 at Oceana Naval Air Station in Va. beach 6 years ago at an SVRA race that weekend. It was one of the cars that Rob and I restored at our restoration shop in Spring City. The car was our 1970 Corvette LS1, a real LS1, that was campaigned in the 70's Trans-Am series. The car has a 625ci really big, big block Chevy that made 988HP on the dyno, 802 at the wheels. The car drag raced the F-14 down the longest landing strip at the base. The top speed was a kick ass 235MPH needless to say the F-14 lost but when he hit the afterburner and left the ground that was the most earth shaking thing I have ever felt. To feel and here the big block and jet together was pure music. I have some great shots of the two. Jeff the owner of the Vett is a personal friend of the base commander that is how the race got started. I will try to scan and post the pics if I can find them since my move.

For you Pocono DE drivers the Vett has been clocked on the Long Pond straight doing 214MPH from the chicane to the tunnel turn.

Is that the Corvette the Lance Smith was driving a few years ago?  It was white, and looked like a Trans Am car.

Hi Chris,

No, the car that Lance was driving was his Spirit of Sebring 75' Corvette, that is one of his Vette's. That car he got from a guy outside of Berlin, Germany "go figure" very cheep and all in box's. I helped him build that car at his then home/barn in Villanova. He now lives in Mission Beach Ca.

The Vette I am talking about was owned by my friend Jeff King from Malvern.

Number 00 all red in color.

It's an impressive plane - it should be considering how long it took to develop and the cost.

Kind of like that $1000.00 toilet seat.

I can't wait to see the new F22 Raptor in action.
