Need to move my new acquisition from San Diego to NJ. Any recommendations for a carrier. Also any carriers to stay away from?
Thanks.

Congratulations!

I've used Reliable on two occasions with no issues for cross country transport.  You can now get quotes online as well.

I have also heard good things about Thomas Sunday(spell?).

So now you have two to look into.  Smile

I recommend Thomas C. Sunday, Inc. in New Kingstown, PA. They are the best E to W carrier and usually have the best prices. You can contact them at 800-541-6601 or www.thomascsundayinc.com. Be sure to let them know you're a PCA member when requesting a quote.

+1 on Tom Sunday! They delivered our GT3 Cup to us from Kansas, no problems, easy to work with... a while back he used to autocross locally, too.... nice people and competitive prices.

Thanks for the help. I've heard good things about Reliable and I'll contact Thomas Sunday. As I've researched carriers the past few days the horror stories I've come across are really scary. Thanks for the referrals.

I hear ya!  The stories are enough to make you want to fly out and drive the car back.  If there was only enough time.....  Smile

If it only had side windows, a wiper motor and wipers or headlights or if it were street legal I'd have driven it back. But, those few details kind-a swayed me from attempting to drive it cross country.

The whole moving industry since deregulation is completely unregulated and  the person moving whether household stuff or a car are completely at the mercy of the shipper. And should you have to sue them it has to be in their state of incorporation. Even if they are licensed and registered with the DOT-that offers ZERO protection. It means only that they exist. I've become an expert on moving/transporter scams in the past few days.
