hey guys!

just got back from Summit Point WV; three days of excitement -- clear weather (although very ccccold!). Was racing my Lotus Super Seven Super Sprint (1600 Ford xflow motor) in Group 2 Vintage Big Bore heat. had exciting races every day, but here is the cream of the crop -- Sunday's finale race:

I tried everything I knew how to do, but couldn't get around that white Ginetta! very close, fun, exciting vintage race! I really need to consider building my 'hot street' wet sump motor into a 'full race' dry sump motor... enjoy! [Image: popcorn.gif]

PS  Scott 'goodhands' was there in his 996 in the modern group and kicked all their asses Smile

Too much power on the other car. Nice try. Even if you pulled out to pass he would just motor on by. Looks like a ton of fun.

yeah, I looked up the specs on those Ginettas -- they are super light! way lighter than I thought -- specs say 1125 lbs no driver. thats about 50 lbs heavier than my Super 7, but they have much better aero, and those particular two cars have more power. I think my Lotus probably has an honest 155 hp at the flywheel (1600 xflow). they said the white Ginetta was 170 hp (1500 non xflow); the blue one was 195 hp (xflow).

here's a pic of the blue one:

here's a pic of the white one, and a pic of it's engine bay:

the Lotus Cortina in the backround was also part of the team that they were a part of. all the cars were immaculately turned out.

Wow, those Ginnetta's are sharp looking cars. I've never heard of them before this post.

Of course your Cortina has its own visual charm as well.

good morning Chris! the white/green Lotus Cortina in the backround was part of the Ginetta team (and I agree, I like that one too!).

this is my car; it's a Lotus Super Seven Super Sprint, Series III:

I think it is somewhat 'charming' too. but it's not at all 'sexy' like the Ginetta G4s are!!!

I would give my left nut for either a Ginetta OR a Lotus Seven. I love the vintage stuff like that.

Nice job Todd!
I almost thought that you had the 2 Ginettas in the braking zone in turn one. I was disappointed when I saw them come around around turn 2.
I loved the end........ you drove thru the paddock right into the trailer. No mess, no fuss, no BS. You should have kept the video going.
What lap times were you doing in that little Lotus?

hey Nick! consistent 1:25s on my own. sometimes a lil better if I got a tow down the straight.

She'll do high 1:23s if I have fresh tires (those were on their 7th year with a ton of heat cycles). in Vintage we run treaded tires (I run the Toyos).

I noticed that you were realing in the Gerlitta's between turn 5 and 9, but pulled away in other straights. I run into the same. AX experience shows in a momentum car

He should have, he was in the mid 1:20's when he had his Carrera.

I was planning on going out to watch but I just couldn't fit it into the weekend's schedule.
