Did you guys see the Speed Channel documentary about this event? I have been reading about it for a few years but the documentary was well done.
The event is run over 5 days through the streets. Some roads are closed to traffic and these guys run flat out. If you get a chance it is worth viewing.
There is another group for those less endowed that runs like a TSD rally. Still pretty neat.
There was one poor chap that just couldn't quite make the turn in his 944 S2 and wound up in the ocean. The had on board video and sound and after they crashed into the ocean and the windshield smashed, they were as calm as could be discussing how they were going to exit the sinking vehicle. The best part is they got the car running again and finished the event.
This looks like something that is a must event to participate in later in life.
