Just a quick thanks to James and Jim for organizing and running the skid pad. It had been quite a while for me (Thanks Wally!) and Sharon used it for the 1st time. It is a tremendous learning tool and Sharon and I thought it was very helpful. Thanks to Jack and Tom for making this a priority.

Sharon did a nice job in the car.  That car seems to have endless grip and she was circulating the skidpad really quick before lift throttle would even begin to bring out the backend.  When it did step out her reaction looked to be swift and correct.  Jim mentioned when they came in that she was really starting to get the feel for it.  Again, very nice!

Thanks to everyone who rejected the fear of a dirty car and came out to the skidpad.  I hope you learned a few things that will help you on the track and on the street.  We tried not to make it a "drifting" lesson.  But that's the natural progression once one learns and feels comfortable with the dynamics and begins making the correct reactions.   And after all... that's the goal.  Oh... and did I say ITS FUN!?!

We all had a great time instructing and driving.  James's Subaru was a blast!  Special thanks to James, Steve Hoagland and the king of the ring, Dave Coughlin for helping out.  We hope to do it again and make it even better!

My thanks as well.  Very much enjoyed the skip pad and realized you guys gave up a driving weekend so we could all do the skip pad.  Thanks and see me at the next meeting for an adult beverage.

I would agree. It was an excellent experience feeling what it was like when the car would push forward no matter how hard you were turning the steering wheel or the back end swing around. I would definitely do that excercise again.
