Has anyone out there run the new BFG R1s on a 993?  I think I saw them on Tom D's car, but I can't remember.  It's been a long off-season Smile

I usually run 245/35/18 and 285/30/18 Hoosiers.  Closest sizes in the R1's are 245/40/18 and 285/30/18.  The tire diameters look like they are larger than the Hoosiers by .5 - 1.0" accrding to specs on Tire Rack.

In any case, I'd like to hear of anyone's first hand experiences before I order.

thx,
Jack

Tom absolutely ran BRG's and liked them alot.  They seem to hold up better in races than the R6's with no "fall off" at 20min of 10/10ths driving.  Email Tom about the sizes ( I also need to  talk to him about the upcoming VIR race with NASA and will ask the same Q).  I am going to run a set of them for the March race and see.  The sizes you mention sound correct, but Tom can tell you for sure.

I looked at them too, and would be more inclined to run the 275/35s because the diameter matches the front.  I can sell the 245s for $250, the 275s for $256, and the 285s for $272 each plus shipping, if you guys are interested.
