I'm certainly no expert, but I do want to learn more about this stuff and I'm thinking of cheaper ways to get throttle and steering position sensors into the race car. Brake on/off is pretty easy.

For those of you with the G2X, e-mail some of your data files and I'll put something together. If it's good, we can show it to the whole club. I've also volunteered to write an article on data acquisition for the next Der Gasser, but that will be much simpler than what I want to do with you guys. It will be a deadline, though. Need to do this before the race in mid-April.

Hey Chris, I'm certainly interested in confusing myself more than I already am on DAS. You know from email that I'm looking and was leaning towards Traqmate b/c I know more guys in white running it for data sharing purposes, but if all you driving gods in black/red are using G2X, then maybe it is worth considering too.

I'll bring some beer to your wine/cheese/cigar get together and dumb it down, I promise. Keep me in the loop when you may get together and even though I'm 2 hours away, I may be able to make it.

Thanks,
Nick...

Although I currently do not have a G2X, I would be interested in a session.

Nick, there is not consensus as to which unit to buy - traqmate or g2x.  Both are good products.

Go with the one that you feel is best for you and analyzing YOUR data.

How about a seminar on Saturday, May 2? Is a weekend day better than a weekday?

I should have some data from the first SCCA race this year and I probably can find some data from last year in the Porsche (but maybe not because my laptop crashed in between).

This would be a real seminar where YOU would participate. I have some data and some can summarize what I have learned so far, but I'm not going to lecture. Also, I would make this an intro session where we examine only the basic data that a logger captures: G-forces and speed. Every logger grabs that data. We can defer discussion of what you can see if you also have steering, throttle and braking sensors.
