I was watching a video on You tube and a BMW M did a sub 1 min. lap at Pocono North, apexing turn one at 100 mph according to his traqmate.  Top speed appeared to be 130, which I didn't think was as fast as some of our faster drivers.

that makes sense actually...I run sub 1 but most likely have to slow for turn 2 more than the BMW as Im a pile of bricks, if he holds his speed through two, that would def make sense to me...

Sounds ok to me. The old car would top 140 and take T1 about 95-100 and straighten the wheel and brake hard!! This was a great place to catch folks. The other place to really gain is between T3 and T4 - use all the track and accelerate. Have fun y'all.

I think  130mph in a 993 is about right.  Data logger shows 115mph at the apex as pretty fast (max).  The entire entry is part of the corner, so maintaining that speed at turn-in is key to being fast through T1..  Those laps are at or below 1min.  The problem with any more speed into T1 is collecting the car for T2 with corner exit speed.  T2-3 is a long straight and easy to lose anytime you thought you gained.  BMW is much better balanced through T4a, 4b - T5.  Try chasing an M3 up the essess at VIR and you see where they are better. :X
