Here's an idea for a new post to help decipher model numbers.   For example, I didn't know that a Cayman was officially known as a 987C.   I had mistakenly heard a new Cayenne referred to as a 957 and when ordering parts was informed it was a 955/2.

980 - Carrera GT

986 - Boxster (1997-2004.5)

 987 - Boxster (2005-2009)

987C - Cayman (2006-2009)

 993 - Carrera (1994-1998)

996 - Carrera (1999-2004.5)

997 - Carrera (2005-2009)

 955 (9PA) - Cayenne - (2003-2006)
 955/2 (9PA1)- Cayenne Facelift - (2008-2009)
