The top on my 993 is giving me problems. Here are the symptons.  The top was coming down, and I stopped the descent (twice). It continued to work after the first time I stopped it; after the second time, the top stuck.   I actuated the button numerous times, but there was no response. I loosened the two 19mm bolts and manually lowered the top. Once the top made contact with the front (top of the windshield) the small cams actuated which lock the top.

I then tightened the 19mm bolts, assuming that all would be well. When I pushed the button the next time, the top releases from the locked position, but does not go up, although I hear the motor turning.

I removed the 19mm bolts, in order to see the slotted part in the housing that the hinge mechanism fits into.  When I actuate the button, I hear the motor turn, but the slotted part does not turn.

Any advice?

Thanks

Chuck
