I'm trying to convince my friend to join us next week at the Glen. He has a camper and I wonder if he can campout at the track. I know that we have a few that park the RV's there.

We looked at the Glen's website, but they only describe camping during racing events.

Any info about costs, hookup, etc. would be appreciated.

With the August evening thunder and lightning storms, which like to roll through early evening, they will need alternative plans for safe shelter.  Are the garages locked at night?

Lou,

We use to camp at the track but the track has started charging us a pretty hefty fee if we want to camp.  A few years back we tried to bring camping back by passing that cost onto the people that wanted to camp... but that didn't go so well.

There is a camp ground about have way down the hill on the same road that the Seneca Lodge is on that was fairly reasonable (7 or 8 years back).  It's not the same as camping at the track, but it is an option.

You'd think more people would camp considering the economy and the fall-off in registrations.  I don't really get it...I'd rather camp and then do an extra event or 2 a year with the money.

The South entrance for WG State Park is across the street from Seneca Lodge:

Some of their camp sites actually abut the gorge.  Even when we used to camp at the track, we would always get a spot at the park to use their services.

Well.....friends backed out on camping out, wife is sick so I canceled the Idlewilde Inn.  I'm camping out, alone at the Relax Inn again!
