That's a shame.  You'll enjoy it when you get there. 

Not hard to find an open event there at this point.  A number of other clubs, PCA and other, are doing Monticello so if you check the sites for various PCA regions and other track day event sites it isn't hard to find a chance to go.  If they get membership up enough they plan to close the track to members only and stop renting it - doesn't seem like an immediate threat though with the economy and their development plans, I would think they will continue to rent for at least a few years if not longer. 

I do a lot of events with SCDA.  They are doing another 1 day at Monticello 7/26 - pretty close to RTR WG event but heck take the week off and hit Monticello on the way up to WG.  SCDA is also there 10/4.  SCDA is for profit so a bit more expensive but usually you get more track time - we got 2 1/2 hours per day at WG last month, 1:45 at Monticello this week as they had a lot of drivers (140) drivers sign up - still like at the Glen it didn't seem crowded with 30 cars on track per session.
