Powder Coating or Just spray Paint?

Bought a used Safety's Devise cage and would like to paint it or powder coat it. What should be done to  make this look good? Will spray paint do an okay job on this?

I always think powder coating looks fab and is the way to go if you have the cash, but like everything else porsche-related, you'll never get the cash back if/when you sell

Spray paint will look good if applied properly but will scratch easily.  Powder Coating is much more scratch resistant.

rattle can is fine... paintscratch.com provides pretty good color match for porsche oem colors.  lay down a coat of primer or two, two or three base coats, then maybe two coats of clear.  If you really want to get fancy, you can add some clear bra to the high wear areas (like the door bars that get mucked up climbing in/out of the car, and under the harnesses).... yes I'm a bit OCD with my car.

Another options for this is fiberglass paint. It is much more durable than the rattle can and you can roll/brush it on with a foam brush.  Very cleanable also.  Home Depot has a variety of Rustoleum colors which are black, or metal finish.  Easy to touch up too and no need to mask the entire car while applying.

I think there is really no other option than painting.

Unless the roll bar comes apart and/or you have a very large oven, I think powder coating will be difficult if not impossible. Getting the powder onto the roll bar will be simple enough but the next step in the process is baking it in order to cure.

My brother does this quite a bit and built a large oven using the heating elements from an electric oven installed into a large home-built box. It's a large as a refrigerator, but even that wouldn't take a roll bar unless it disassembles.

You will need to know someone with an industrial oven I think.
