That had to be pretty insane. The aero goes away at that speed.

Is that 5 points or 6?

He'll lose his license (for a long time) and may even go to jail for that one.

it was a pretty idiotic thing to do considering how draconian UK driving laws have become and how many speed cameras that have (it's pretty bad).

.. then to do it in a "borrowed" car. He'll be lucky if he gets a job around cars again.

As you said, the aero kit doesn't do much at that speed - he's lucky that he didn't take off - even worse is that the road was probably just one lane in each direction - at best it was 2... I just checked my road map and parts are 2 lanes - most are 1 lane each direction - pretty bad. I really don't know how he did it.

I hit 167mph or 260kph on the Autobahn while picking my car up last year.   It's no turbo, however, they must react similarly at that speed.

The steering got very light.   So much so that probably took about a dozen tries starting at 150mph to hit top speed.   Any slight imperfection or turn in the road made me abort.   Not to mention traffic.

Jenn was a trooper though and helped with the camera/video camera.  It was something I always wanted to do.

Now I wouldn't mind seeing the video of that.

You hit the nail on the head about road imperfections. What makes this case particularly bad is the fact that British roads are rarely flat. I'm amazed he didn't take off and end up in the face of oncoming traffic. .

based on recent stories from California, he would have taken off if he was driving an Enzo Big Grin

... then it would have split in two, then burst into flames. Smile

Wayne,

I sent you a PM with my home address.   Send me a message there and I'll reply with a 30 second clip.

The file size is quite large as we filmed it with 8mm, burned it to a DVR, then converted the file send electronically.    Had I had what a headache it would have been, I would have bought a digital camcorder before the trip!
