Hopefully you all had a chance to watch, and all I can say is I really miss Florida this time of year.  I set the DVR up to record Saturday since my wife had other plans for my afternoon, but I pretty much spent all day Sunday watching the race. (FFW through cautions and commercials is the way to go!)

Very exciting to see the Lizards come out so strong and the Action Express guys were in the mix until the end, but the Gnassi boys were tough (again).  Pruett is amazing!

Awesome to see Andy Lally and TRG take the GT win with Magnus in the mix early and seeing Brumos and Hurley back in a 911 was pretty cool too.

And if things couldn't get better, I'm watching the post race interviews with Scott Dixson and I see a couple of familiar faces in the background.  Fred Brubaker and Myles Diamond standing right behind Dixson the whole interview.

Hope you guys had a blast!  Look forward to hearing the details.

It was an awesome 4 days in Daytona with perfect weather and lots of great racing. RTR members Lainey Drake and Steve Landstra started the Rolex weekend out by being Married in Victory Lane Thursday afternoon.  The whole RTR group that was in Daytona attended and the ceremony was the headline on the front page of the Daytona news paper.

Porsche was much more competitive this year in GT.  Brumos made a great effort and Hurley certainly showed what a great driver he is even at age 60.  Paul Miller Racing, Mangus and of course TRG all showed that Porsche 911's are among the finest sports cars in the world for endurance racing. The 2 Ferrari's entered in the race = the rolling chicanes.

The race was a sprint from the start and the Flying Lizards machine was amazing to watch early in the race.

Attendance at this years race was over 50,000,  the largest crowd ever for a Rolex 24.

More to come later when I get home and sort out the pictures.

On to Sebring for what looks to be 4 equally good days of driving fun for me.

Congratulations! I'd like to do an article for Der Gasser. If I have your permission, do you have photos you can share? Regards, Dan

I have received permission from the paper in Florida to run their article as it stands (including photos). If anyone has better photos (than the article), shoot them to me please! Thanks, Dan
