Biography
Colin Thompson began motor racing in 1999 at just five years old. As his motorsports career progressed from karts to open-wheel cars through his early teens, so did his aspiration to become a factory sports car driver for the legendary German marque Porsche.
Colin competed in the Jetta TDI Cup in 2010, and the next year finished fifth in F1600 Formula F championship with three podium finishes in eight starts. In 2013, Colin took the next step toward reaching his dream by racing a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car in the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama. Competing in the ultra-competitive series on challenging road and street circuits across North America, Colin recorded two podium-finishes and finished an impressive eighth in the season standings.
This year, Colin went on to win the 2014 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama championship with three victories, including a win in the pressure-packed final round of the season at Road Atlanta.
At just 20 years old, Colin is ready to reach the next level of professional sports car racing. His talent, ambition and desire to work hard every day continue to keep him focused on his goal of becoming a factory Porsche sports car driver.
