Hello guys - I am trying to locate the original owner of a 2002 Boxster that I now own. I know that the car was initially sold by Knopf Automotive in Allentown. So, I assume that the owner was nearby. I have tried the DMV in Pennsylvania but, as is the norm these days, they claim that their records do not go back that far - they won’t help me. I have a Carfax but that does not provide names. Knopf claims that they cannot help either.

So, I thought that a regional Porsche club like yours might be of some help. The Vin number is listed below and some details. It’s very possible that the original owner of the car, may still be a Porsche guy and could still be a member! You can imagine that any info or paperwork that he may have would be of interest and real helpful to me.

Triple Black
Delivered by Knopf Automotive on 10-13-01.

I am a very nice 64 year old Porsche guy and, along with this Boxster, I own a 64 356 C Coupe. I just want you to know that I am not looking to intrude on someones privacy. I think the original owner of my car would enjoy a conversation with me! Can you help?

Thanks! Smile

Car looks to be in beautiful shape David... I hope you're able to connect with the original owner!

Thank you Corey. This Boxster, 15 years old, has only 41k miles on it - it's super clean - I am lucky to have it! Thanks for your help.

Hello John - I appreciate the message and suggestion. I am familiar with that report and it will give you some title history as does Carfax. But, these reports do not give you names and addresses. And, of course my mission is to find the original owner, which is looking dubious. I know my Boxster originated in PA and I know which dealer delivered the car. I know it was purchased by a Doctor, but that's all I know. Neither the dealer or the State will give me a name due to confidentiality. I have thought that the only thing left that I can attempt is to ask the dealer if they will contact the owner and seek his permission for the dealer to give me the owners address, etc. That can work if I get someone at the dealership who really wants to help me. Oh well!

Thanks again for your help. Smile
