So in addition to adding 12V to my rear storage console, I'm also considering swapping out the CDR-30 for a more modern HU (single-DIN). I have a single-DIN fascia for the dash from Crutchfield, but I'm a little confused about the radio itself. Nowhere do I see the name "Bose" emblazoned anywhere on the HU or the speakers, nor do I have a subwoofer in the passenger footwell, but the build sheet for the car claims "680 BOSE SOUND PACKAGE". So I'm not sure if I even have the correct wiring harness for the HU, and I don't want to go to the surgery of taking the dash apart to find out unless I have to.
One good thing about my CDR-30 is that it does have the bluetooth telephone option (but no music streaming), and people I call say that they can hear me very well even while driving with the top down. If I replace the HU with a modern digital media player unit, I'm hoping that by using the mic that's already in the car I will retain most of that call quality. Assuming I in fact have a non-Bose HU, does anyone happen to have a pin-out of the wiring harness radio connector? I'll need this to build the harness to the new radio, but hopefully the mic input is located in this harness as well.
