All this talk about extended warranties reminded me of the dumbest clerk ever at Best Buy.  I had gone in to buy a $40 stereo for my beater car a few years back. When I went to pay, he asked me if I would like the extended warranty.  So of course I asked for th price.  With a straight face, he said $30.  And I was like, for ten dollars difference, I'll take my chances!  If it breaks, I'll just buy another.

I think that an extended warranty is surely meant for higher ticket purchases.

I just got the Garmin Nuvi 660 so that I could have the FM radio traffic warnings. It also has bluetooth phone connection (and it works ok). I like it a lot.

I buy my Garmin products from http://tvnav.com where the prices are very good and the support is friendly.

(I did not buy an extended warranty.)
