A friend saw this and sent it to me.   Whoever had a 997 Q2 allocation might have a slightly longer wait:

Plant Explosion Halts Porsche 911 Production

[size=Manufacturing.Net - February 25, 2008]

STUTTGART, Germany (AP) ? Automaker Porsche AG said Monday that an explosion at its plant where 911 models are made has halted production for two to three days.

Two workers were injured in a gas explosion early Monday at the Zuffenhausen factory, which produces 160 of its popular 911 models a day.

Porsche said gas leaked from a drying oven in the paint shop and ignited. The workers were taken to a hospital for treatment and later released.

''The extent of the property damage cannot be determined at this moment, Porsche said in a statement. ''Because the sprinklers went off, parts of the production as well as the paint shop are under water.''

Shares of Porsche Automobil Holding SE, the automaker's parent company, were up more than half a percent to euro1,137 (US$1,688) in Frankfurt trading.
