I have a 98 Boxster....during the Spring Fling...I started hearing a light thumping sound when turning...up front. I checked all the components underneath and all seems to be tight. Ive been told that it maybe the bushings or swaybar components...any thoughts?  Thanx  Drew

Can you describe the thumping sound a little better? If it is a random thump, I'd look a little harder for a loose suspension component. If it is rhythmic, then it sounds more like a wheel bearing.

Larry is on the right track, just because something appears to be tight on a lift doesn't neccessarily mean that it is okay, for example, when load is placed on the front end and the vehicle is turning at slow speeds when the thumping noise occurs, the noise could be coming from a lower ball joint or tie rod end that has too much play. Could you please give a little more information as to the symptoms, speed, sharpness of turn, pothole in the intersection when turning...? I'm sure someone on the forum could steer you in the right direction (no pun intended!).

Only when I am turning around a uneven corner to the right..its just a random thumping....almost like a loose shock rattling around for a couple seconds and then gone.  Never while driving..no vibrations..no loose steering.....

I'd check the sway bar mounts where they bolt thru the strut -- one had come loose on my car shortly after I bought it.

Try running each wheel over a bump to see if you can get it to rattle.
