Many of you may or may not know about this, but American Collectors is no longer writing new DE policies.  I believe that this became effective very recently.

In talking with their customer service department, they state that all existing policies will continue to be services, including claims, renewals, vehicle changes, etc.  Further, they don't feel that they need to notify their existing policy holders at this time as they plan to continue to service the policies.  I see several issues with this.

I can see issues arising if a claim is filed whereby they state that a cancellation notice had been previously sent.  Also, with the hefty premiums that have been paid, what assurance do we have that they will, in fact, renew the policies especially given that they write policies along the eastern seaboard and after Oct/Nov there are virtually no DE/Autocross events.  They will "earn" the premiums while the policy holders are inactive.

Maybe I'm wrong about this, but I simply have a bad feeling with this.
